Black Friday Protein Deals UK 2026: How to Spot a Real Discount
Only wait for Black Friday if the deal beats the lowest price already recorded, because some of this year's lows are behind us. Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November, so judge every offer against real price history rather than the list price beside it.

Quick answer
Only wait for Black Friday if the deal beats the lowest price already recorded, because some of this year's lows are already behind us: Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard in the 2.27kg tub was £80.00 on Amazon in August and is £98.00 now. If you want one big bag to stock up on, buy Protein Works Whey Protein 360 Black: it is 60p per 25g of protein in the 4.8kg bag at its everyday OnTap subscription price of £68.49, or 53p with code WW12, so any Black Friday offer on it has to beat that to be worth waiting for. Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November.
Black Friday is when most people expect to buy protein cheaply, but a protein powder sale is only a deal if the price beats what the same bag has already sold for. WheyWise has recorded UK protein prices since April 2026, so this guide checks Black Friday against real price history rather than against a list price. We will add the live offers as each brand announces them.
When is Black Friday 2026 for protein deals?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday is on Monday 30 November. Watch prices across the whole week up to Cyber Monday, not just the Friday, and judge each offer against the lowest prices below.
| Date | Day |
|---|---|
| Friday 27 November 2026 | Black Friday |
| Monday 30 November 2026 | Cyber Monday |
How can you tell if a Black Friday protein deal is real?
Compare the Black Friday price with the lowest price the same bag has sold for, not with the list price beside it. Our records show that some of this year's lowest protein prices came well before November: the cheapest flavour of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 2.27kg was £80.00 on Amazon on 2 August, and it is £98.00 now.
| Product | Lowest we recorded | Price now | Per 25g of protein, lowest vs now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, 2.27kg (Amazon) | £80.00 on 2 August | £98.00 | £1.16 vs £1.42 |
| Bulk Pure Whey, 2.5kg (Amazon) | £61.14 on 14 September | £77.97 | 86p vs £1.10 |
| Protein Works Whey Protein 360 Black, 2.4kg | £31.99 on 28 September | £34.99 | 56p vs 62p |
The cheapest flavour on each day, from WheyWise price records. Optimum Nutrition tracked from July, Bulk on Amazon from July, Protein Works from August.
So a Black Friday price of, say, £90 on Gold Standard 2.27kg would look like a deal against today's £98.00, but it would still be dearer than August. Bulk Pure Whey has the same pattern on Amazon. Protein Works is the odd one out: its 2.4kg bag cost £43.99 to £45.99 in August and has stayed between £31.99 and £34.99 since September, so its everyday price is already close to its low. Check any product's movement on our price trends tool before you buy.
The second check is cost per 25g of protein. A “50% off” label tells you nothing until you know the pack size and the protein per 100g. Divide the price by the grams of protein in the pack and multiply by 25, or use the compare page, which does it for every product.
What protein powder is worth stocking up on for Black Friday?
The best thing to stock up on is the biggest bag of a whey you already like, at a cost per 25g of protein below what it has sold for this year. Our pick is Protein Works Whey Protein 360 Black in the 4.8kg bag: it costs 60p per 25g of protein at its everyday £68.49 on an OnTap subscription, or 53p with code WW12, without waiting for a sale.
Stocking up only saves money if you finish the bag. Protein powder carries a best before date rather than a use by date, and whey lasted at least 18 months at room temperature in a 2016 study, so a big bag kept sealed and dry is safe to buy ahead. At one 30g scoop a day, a 4.8kg bag lasts about 160 days. Our guide to whether protein powder expires covers storage in detail.

If you are loyal to a brand whose price swings, such as Optimum Nutrition or Bulk on Amazon, Black Friday is worth waiting for, but set your target at the lowest price in the table above, not at the discount percentage.
Should you buy on a subscription or wait for flash sales?
For the lowest price, a sale on a big bag usually beats a subscription, and at Myprotein you cannot have both: its terms say special offers do not apply on top of a subscribe and save discount, except where the offer is about meeting a spend threshold. A subscription's real benefit is convenience, not the lowest price.
| Option | What it saves | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Myprotein subscribe and save | A standing subscriber discount | Sale offers do not stack on top; one code per basket |
| Amazon Subscribe & Save | 5% per subscription, more when five or more items arrive together | Starts from Amazon's price, usually dearer than the brand's own site |
| Big bag in a sale | Bigger bag discount plus the sale | You have to time it and store it |
A permanent code sits in between. WW12 takes 12% off at Protein Works on every order, so you get a fixed saving without waiting for a sale or signing up to a schedule. If you value never running out more than the last few pence, a subscription is fine, and our guide to protein bundles and subscriptions compares them.
Do discount codes stack with Black Friday sales?
Usually not: most protein brands allow one code per order, so a Black Friday code replaces any other code rather than adding to it. Myprotein's terms allow one discount code per basket, and Protein Works says WW12 cannot be used with other codes.
The practical rule is to compare the two. If Protein Works runs a Black Friday code bigger than 12%, use it; if not, WW12 still works. Where a brand cuts its prices on the site without a code, add your code at checkout and the basket shows whether it applied. We have not yet confirmed whether WHEYWISE applies on top of Prozis or Vilgain sale prices, and we will update this section once we have checked it during the sales.
Which Black Friday protein deals should you skip?
Skip big percentage cuts on small tubs, because a small tub on sale can still cost more per gram of protein than the big bag at full price. Myprotein Impact Whey shows how: the 500g bag costs £1.42 per 25g of protein at £20.49, and even 25% off would only bring it to £1.07, no cheaper than the 2.7kg bag, which starts at £1.07 without any sale.
- Small tubs at a big percentage off. Check the cost per 25g of protein against the biggest bag before you buy.
- Bundles with shakers and samplers. They are priced for convenience. Divide the bundle price by the grams of protein inside.
- A flavour you have never tried, in a 4kg or 5kg bag. A cheap bag you will not finish is not a saving.
- More than you can finish before the best before date. Buy for the next few months, not the next two years.
Where to find the live Black Friday protein deals
The live deals will be on our deals page as soon as each brand publishes them, and the cheapest protein page re-ranks every powder by cost per 25g of protein as prices change. We will update this guide in late November with each brand's actual offer, checked against the lowest prices above. If you are deciding where to buy rather than when, read our guide to the best place to buy protein powder in the UK.
Frequently asked questions
Is Black Friday a good time to buy protein powder?
Only if the Black Friday price beats the lowest price the product has already sold for. Some of this year's lows came in summer: Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 2.27kg was £80.00 on Amazon in August and is £98.00 now. A product with a low everyday price, like Protein Works Whey Protein 360 Black at 60p per 25g of protein in the 4.8kg bag on an OnTap subscription, may not need a sale at all.
When is Black Friday 2026 in the UK?
Black Friday is on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is on Monday 30 November 2026. Retailers often run offers across the days around them, so check prices across the whole week rather than on the Friday alone.
Will protein powder go off if I stock up?
Not if you buy what you will finish before the best before date and keep it sealed and dry. Protein powder carries a best before date, not a use by date, and whey lasted at least 18 months at room temperature in a 2016 storage study. At one 30g scoop a day, a 4.8kg bag lasts about 160 days.
Can I use WW12 during a Protein Works Black Friday sale?
WW12 cannot be combined with another discount code, so if Protein Works runs its own Black Friday code, use whichever takes more off. If it cuts prices on the site without a code, add WW12 at checkout and the basket will show whether it applied.
Can you use a sale code on a Myprotein subscription?
Generally not. Myprotein's terms say special offers do not apply on top of a subscribe and save discount, except where the offer is about meeting a spend threshold. Its terms also allow one discount code per basket.
