Frequently Asked Questions
Are the WheyWise protein tools free?
Yes, all four are free with no account, no signup and no email required. WheyWise earns a commission if you buy through some of the outbound links, which is what pays for the price tracking. It never changes what the tools recommend or the order results appear in.
Which tool should I use if I do not know what to buy?
Start with the Protein Finder. It asks five questions about your goal, budget, diet and preferences, then ranks the powders that match on live prices and the nutrition published on the label, telling you the single reason each pick won so you can check the claim yourself.
How much protein do I need a day?
That depends on your body weight, your goal and your age, so the Protein Calculator works out a daily range from those rather than quoting one number. The bands it uses come from published sports nutrition and clinical research, and the page lists its references.
How current is the pricing behind these tools?
Every tool reads the same live data as the rest of the site: 1,418 products across 57+ UK retailers. Retailers are re-checked on a weekly to monthly cycle depending on the source, and every price is shown with the date it was checked so you can judge how recent it is.
Can I compare two specific protein powders?
Yes. The Comparison Tool puts any two powders we track side by side on their nutrition panel and what they cost, so you can settle a like-for-like question without opening two retailer tabs. To compare a whole shelf at once rather than a pair, use the main comparison table instead.
Do the tools show discounted or voucher-code prices?
No. Prices are exactly as the retailer listed them, with no voucher-code maths and no estimated basket discounts, because a price you cannot reliably obtain is not a price. Where a discount code exists we list it separately on the deals page as information, and it never changes the ranking.
