Who we are
WheyWise is a free, independently run protein powder price comparison tool that tracks prices across UK retailers. It is operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected] or via the contact page.
What data we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. Here is exactly what we collect and why:
- Analytics and conversion tracking (with your consent): If you accept performance and targeting cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. This includes storing a Google Click ID (GCLID) cookie for conversion attribution. IP addresses are anonymised by Google. These cookies are only set with your explicit consent.
- Contact form submissions: When you send us a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This is sent to us via Resend (our email provider) and stored only in our email inbox. We use it solely to reply to you.
- Essential cookies: We store a small cookie called
clearcookiethat remembers your consent preferences. It contains no personal data. It expires after 365 days.
What we do NOT collect

Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services:
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads: Usage analytics and conversion tracking. Only active if you consent. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Tag Manager: Manages the loading of analytics scripts. Does not collect data itself.
- Amazon Associates: Affiliate links to Amazon UK products. Amazon may set cookies when you click an affiliate link. Governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice.
- Awin: Affiliate network for retailer links (Myprotein, Bulk, Warrior, etc.). Awin may set cookies when you click an affiliate link. Governed by Awin's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel: Hosts the website. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- Resend: Delivers contact form emails. Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- •Access any personal data we hold about you
- •Request correction or deletion of your data
- •Withdraw consent at any time (clear your cookies to reset preferences)
- •Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data
In practice, we hold almost no personal data. If you have never used the contact form, we have nothing linked to you at all.
Data retention
Contact form messages are kept in our email inbox for as long as needed to respond. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Consent cookies expire after 1 year. GCLID cookies expire after 90 days.
Children
WheyWise is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
