At 78g protein per 100g with no fat and 0.9g of sugar it is a clean way to get 20g in, and it mixes in a bottle with water rather than needing a proper shaker. Two honest observations. The serving is 25g rather than the usual 30g, so it is 20g of protein per scoop and a 500g bag is only 20 servings, which makes it expensive per 25g of protein however cheap the bag looks. And unusually for Myprotein, we struggled to find people saying bad things about it: across the public reviews we read, the criticism attaches to price and to a burst sachet in transit, not to the drink. Treat it as a second tub alongside a normal whey, not a replacement for one.

Hydrolysed isolate is what makes it go clear instead of milky. It also carries canola oil and silicon dioxide inside the protein blend as anti-foaming agents, which is why it does not turn into a pint of head in a shaker the way an untreated hydrolysate would.

The serving is 25g, not 30g, so a scoop is 20g of protein rather than the 25g you get from Impact Whey Isolate. A 500g bag is 20 servings, which is ten days if you drink two. The fat line reading 0g while saturates read 0.1g is not our typo: that is how Myprotein publishes it, and it is a rounding artefact of a powder with almost no fat in it at all.

What the maker does not publish
- We could not find substantive criticism of the drink itself in public reviews, which is unusual. That is a finding rather than a verdict: it may mean the product is genuinely well liked, or that unhappy buyers simply stop reordering without writing anything.
- Myprotein publishes one panel rather than one per flavour, and the fruit flavours differ enough in colour and acid content that carbohydrate figures are unlikely to be identical across the range.

20g in a 25g serving. That is a smaller scoop than a standard whey, so if you are used to 25g per shake you are 5g short and will want to make it up elsewhere in the day.
Is Clear Whey better than normal whey?
It is not a better protein, it is a different drink. Per 100g it carries no fat and less sugar than Impact Whey, but the serving is smaller and the bags are smaller, so it costs more per 25g of protein. Most people who use both keep a normal whey for daily volume and clear whey for after hard sessions in summer.
Does Myprotein Clear Whey go frothy?
The protein blend includes silicon dioxide and canola oil as anti-foaming agents specifically to stop that. Clear proteins without them foam badly. Shake it and let it stand for a minute rather than drinking it straight away.
Is Clear Whey suitable if you are lactose intolerant?
It is hydrolysed whey isolate at 0.9g of sugar per 100g, so it is very low in lactose, and buyers do pick it for that reason. It is still a milk product and it is not lactose free.
